Drivers to Nyamirambo road are claiming for their right to keep American star posters on their taxis because it means a lot to them .

By Monday 21^st May 2012 the Divers of the taxi carrying passengers on the road Nyamirambo , were abruptly caught  by the police taking their driving license .Some drivers suspended their  activities.

Police wants these taxi to remove the star posters and change the color of their cars into white.

”We had not been informed about the issue .Police did not tell us  the reason of that operation on our cars, no medium had talked about it before, we were  attacked  without knowing what is happening, We don’t understand  why ! we pay taxes ,we  respect regulations of  Rwanda Federations of Transport Cooperatives but we don’t know why all these happen “ . Yes it is my right  to post on my car a picture of my adore star . I love Michel scotfield I knew him through  the film Prison break. I love very much his behaviors ,he shows seriousness in his actions in the film . I decided to post him on my car because I know that I share my love to him with many other people especially young ones. So it helps me to get more passengers especially those who love him! “said  Jean Bosco Kabera the driver on the road  Nyamirambo”.

I can not dream about removing this pictures of jay zee, he is my favorite rapper. In my taxi Radio , there are always his music and I get many passengers due to this action. I would prefer to hide my car in the period of the whole week to wait for the end of this operation launched by police” Said  Daniel Kamali driver on Nyamirambo roads .

”what is being done by the police is the implementation of the decision taken  by Prime Minister. The latter said that cooperatives must be identified by same colors, signals, uniform. After that decision, we, leaders of the  cooperative RFTC  in Charge of Transport.We  were severally told about to remove posters and keep the taxis in white as well as the  bland of the cooperative. So we have asked help from police “Said Operation Manager of RFTC Didas Bazirasa”

Nyamiramo is one of the  village of Kigali city, it is famous in the country for accommodating young people. Most of taxi mini buses are differently colored and posted with respective star posters of some different famous actors, singers  mostly Americans. As these drivers said to us, that kind of design is very attractive to the passengers . ”Those American stars posters on taxi  help  clients  to  remember the actors or singers they adore(they love very much) . And this helps passengers to identify easily  the car they appreciate . Star posters on Taxis are different referring to one another’s favorite artists or actors. These are some of them, Michel Scotfield (Actor in Prison break ) , Eminem( rapper ) , Jennifer Lopez, Akon , T.I ,Nicki minaj ,  Rihanna, Pink , Drake,Maria carley ,  etc .
